When there is chronic physical pain within the body, there is always an energetic component associated with it and an opportunity to invite healing. When we start to open ourselves up and look at the energetic piece of our pain, we can start to heal at a deeper level and bring balance into our being.
This energetic component is known as the chakras. The chakras are energy systems within the body. According to Kundalini Yoga, we have eight chakras, and each is directly linked to how we interact with our world through our behaviors and attitude.
In this day retreat, we will learn about the chakras and their effects, and how to work with them to facilitate physical, mental, and emotional healing. The day will include kundalini kriyas—sequences that incorporate asana, meditation, pranayama (breath exercises), and mudras (hand expressions) — for balancing the chakras.
