Day Retreat with Jeanine Oburchay and Kerri Gawreluk
January 21, 2018 10:00 AM - January 21, 2018 05:00 PM

IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners

“If we are willing to stand fully in our own shoes and never give up on ourselves, then we will be able to put ourselves in the shoes of others and never give up on them. True compassion does not come from wanting to help out those less fortunate than ourselves but from realizing our kinship with all beings.” – Pema Chodron

Yoga is a practice of getting intimate with our true selves — the light as well as the darkness. Through conscious breathing and movement, we can begin to study and soften into the sensations that arise from within our body, especially our own discomfort, as a way to embolden our compassion. As we strengthen our compassion toward our own needs, we can more easily and effectively open our hearts in service to the needs of others. And as we extend our compassion into our communities, we can begin to more fully see how we are each a reflection of one another.

Join us for a unique workshop where we will explore — through breathwork, yoga poses, meditation, and group discussion — how we can transform the compassion we cultivate on our yoga mats into authentic, empowered action in the world.

Tuition is $125 and includes lunch.
