December 13, 2019 05:00 PM - December 15, 2019 01:00 PM
IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners
In this weekend practice retreat of Vipassana meditation, we’ll explore our connection to impermanence through the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and the natural world. Cultivating a new, or deepening an existing intimate relationship with the body, will support this deeper knowing. This retreat is open to folks at all levels and will culminate with a sense of connection to ourselves, each other, and the natural world, along with tools to practice during this holiday season and beyond.
This retreat will be held in noble silence during the morning practice periods, opening up into relational practice and practice in nature (weather permitting) in the afternoons.
Noble silence and the five precepts for ethical conduct (protecting life, generosity, mindful of speech, protecting the sexuality of self and others, and freeing ourselves of intoxicants that cloud the heart and mind), will be observed to support this practice-based weekend.
*Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move and sit in.
What you can expect from this weekend:
*We will move towards cultivating a more loving and intimate relationship to our bodies through embodied wisdom practices that are rooted in trauma-informed and accessibility practices.
*We will deepen our understanding of our interconnectedness to the natural world, by practicing in nature (weather permitting).
*We will explore practice through using all of the sense doors that are accessible to us.
*We will learn and explore the practice Vipassana meditation through the four postures of sitting, standing, walking and lying down.
*Will have an understanding of impermanence that will liberate the heart and mind.
*We will leave this retreat with an understanding of how to carry these practices into our daily lives.

January marks the completion of my first 90 days as the new Executive Director of Copper Beech Institute and I couldn't be more grateful for the warm welcome of this community that is made up of our board, staff, facilitators and participants. Each of you in your own particular way help to make Copper Beech what it is, and helped to get CBI to it's current moment of evolution. With that said, I am excited to share that many inspired changes are afoot! ✨
