This 5-day silent retreat is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The practices explored during this retreat emphasize bringing kindness and awareness together in each moment. Participants will be encouraged in self-care and self-reflection. Each day includes a full schedule of practice - sitting, walking, standing, lying down, yoga and mindful eating - from 6 am to 9 pm. The retreat is offered in collaboration with the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, is open to the public, and qualifies as a pre-requisite for those training to teach MBSR through the Mindfulness Center at Brown.
