Copper Beech has played a vital role in bringing mindfulness practice to the lives of so many. I strongly resonate with the core value that mindfulness must stem from a strong basis in social justice. The work and thoughtful practices being brought forth by Copper Beech will sustain generations to come. With that in mind, it brought me joy to make a bequest to Copper Beech in my will. This fulfills a deep desire on my part to help ensure that Copper Beech will have the financial fortitude to continue to provide the local and global community with so many avenues to access a mindfulness practice in a safe, thoughtful, and enriching environment for many years to come.

How it Works

Step 1. You designate a particular asset or a percentage of your estate to Copper Beech Institute by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust. With the assistance of your attorney, you can do this while creating your will or trust, or you can amend an existing one with a simple document. You can give:

·         a stated dollar amount

·         a percentage of your residual estate (that is, what remains after gifts to loved ones and expenses have been paid)

Step 2. You inform us of your decision, which helps with planning and ensures your wishes are fulfilled.

Step 3. Copper Beech Institute receives the gift after your lifetime and applies it to support our mission. Your contribution is fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and there is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim. In addition, the gift is usually exempt from state inheritance taxes.

How You Benefit

You decide how much to give—no gift is too small.

Your gift costs you nothing now.

You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and, if your circumstances change, you can modify the gift.

You may choose to keep your gift anonymous.

You can leave a gift in honor or memory of someone who influenced your life.

You will be remembered as someone who supported thousands of people, including students, veterans, teachers, nonprofit professionals, incarcerated men, and countless others, in becoming more resilient, loving, and compassionate.
