The Connecticut Council for Addiction Recover (CCAR) offers multiple pathways including Recovery Coach Chat, Virtual Support Meetings, and Telephone Recovery Support, and more.

The Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous provides a directory of AA meetings following the 12-Step program.

Virtual NA Meetings

Virtual NA offers a list of global online & phone Narcotics Anonymous Meetings. The meetings are sorted by language and day of the week.

One Village Healing

Based in New Haven, CT, One Village Healing is a womxn of color lead nonprofit dedicated to offering brace spaces for all people to heal from the impacts of systems of oppression.

BIPOC Monthly Meditation Group

Copper Beech Institute offers a monthly meditation group for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to comfortably gather in a part guided and part silent meditation practice.

Clinicians of Color

BIPOC Support: Mental Illness or Substance Use Issues

Clinicians of Color offers a database of therapists with the ability to filter by location, insurance, treatment style and more.

Live Another Day provides the following resource guides specifically for members of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community struggling with substance abuse or mental illness.

Therapy for Black Men

Therapy for Black Men strives to break the stigma that asking for help is a sign of weakness. They have a database of therapists and coaches as well as financial assistance.

The Loveland Foundation

The Loveland Foundation offers financial assistance and is sometimes available for between four and eight sessions for Black women and girls.

The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation

This foundation helps Black Americans receive mental health services. The organization’s Free Virtual Therapy Support Campaign pays for up to five individual sessions — first come, first served — until all funds are committed or exhausted.

Pride Counseling

Pride Counseling offers online therapy for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. They pride themselves in being discreet, accessible and convenient.

NQTTCN

The National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network (NQTTCN) offers a directory of queer & trans therapists of color filtered by distance, sliding scale, telehealth, and accepting new clients.


After-Incarceration Resources

Community Partners in Action

Reentry and Employment Services are specifically for people returning to the Hartford area after a prison stay. They offer basic needs assistance, stabilizing support, “employability” skills, job hunting program and career certification training.

GoodWorks CT

GoodWorks CT provides a gender-specific mentoring and support program for women who have been recently incarcerated. They offer weekly workshops, counseling sessions and more.
