Karen Morris-Priester, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist practicing in Allentown, PA. She first began meditating nearly 20 years ago as a medical student. She deepened her practice when she signed up for a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course to help her cope with a debilitating medical illness which caused her to step away from practicing medicine, Karen completed the 6-week MBSR course at Copper Beech Institute before enthusiastically joining their community of meditation practitioners at their weekly Candlelight Meditation.

Inspired by the profound benefits she obtained from her mindfulness practice, Karen wanted to teach these skills she to the people in her community to help mitigate the effects of stress in this population. She became qualified to teach MBSR through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School under the guidance of internationally renowned mindfulness meditation teachers Saki Santorelli and Florence Meleo-Meyer. She continues to develop her practice by participating in silent retreats and trainings with a focus on increasing the diversity in the mindfulness community. Karen offers introduction to meditation seminars, teaches MBSR classes, and leads group meditation.
