COPPER BEECH INSTITUTE OFFERS WEEKEND RETREAT ON
SOLITUDE AND THE VIRTUOUS LIFE

West Hartford, Conn. – January 3, 2017 – An upcoming retreat at Copper Beech Institute, Solitude and the Virtuous Life, will explore the importance of solitude for living a virtuous, awakened, and connected life.

The retreat, which is scheduled from February 24–26, 2017, will be led by Arnie Kozak, Ph.D., a clinical assistant professor in psychiatry at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and author of several books, including “The Awakened Introvert: Practical Mindfulness Skills to Help You Maximize Your Strengths and Thrive in a Loud and Crazy World,” which was published in 2015.

“Without solitude, we are lost,” Kozak says. This afflicts introverts and extroverts alike, he says, in the unrelenting stresses of our fast-paced age of information and technology.

Kozak will bring the retreat theme alive through guided meditation, poetry, stories, and discussion on the latest research on the field of neuroscience. Optional all-levels yoga and a Saturday night performance by The Conduit Center will also be offered.

This retreat is eligible for Boundless Heart Fund Scholarships as well as contemplative fellowships for educatorshealthcare professionals, and artists, which are offered through the Hemera and Aetna foundations.
