IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners
This day retreat intends to look at how we have learned to manage Anger and Fear. Often painted as “negative” emotions, we will learn tools to deconstruct this belief and build a new relationship with them. We will learn how to step away from learned responses; which often include a trauma response of fight, flight, and freeze; and move towards a more mindful approach. We will learn to observe and describe from a non-judgmental point of view in order to re-integrate these emotions as helpful instead of harmful.
Using some skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), we will:
- Develop and implement mindfulness skills in the presence of Anger and Fear
- Utilize emotion regulation to stay grounded
- Use a trauma lens to understand our current responses and identify new responses
- Discuss how we can reframe Anger and Fear and use the momentum of these intense emotions to motivate behaviors

On April 24th, on behalf of CBI, I attended the United Way of Great Waterbury’s 37th Celebration and Awards. Picture this: a room buzzing with anticipation, pulsating with the spirit of achievement and unity. And let me tell you, folks, it was a night to remember, dedicated to honoring the incredible power of philanthropy and community partnership.
